In Example 52, 3 - (41 - pyridyl) - 7 - diethylamino - coumarin, 3 - (21 - pyridyl) - 7 - diethyl - aminocoumarin and 3 - (21 - quinolyl-)-7-diethyl - amino-coumarin are prepared.ALSO:Fibres of cellulose acetates, aromatic polyesters and synthetic polyamides are dyed or printed using dyes containing no anionic water solubilising groups and having the formula FORM:1085456/D1-D2/1 wherein X is a divalent radical making up A to a ring of aromatic character having 5 or 6 members, n is 1 or 2, R1 and R2 are each H, an optionally substituted alkyl or a cycloalkyl group or together with the N they form a ring optionally with another hetero atom. The dyes may be applied as aqueous dispersions in conventional ways. Examples are given.
