2 - Hydroxy - 5 - 2 - hydroxy - 4 - (2,4 - di - hydroxy benzyl identical imino) - phenyl 1,3,4 - oxadiazole, and a method for its production

The compound of the formula FORM:1099101/C2/1 is prepared by reacting N2-(2,4-dihydroxybenzylidene) - isoncotinyl hydrazide with 2-hydroxy - 5 - (21 - hydroxy - 41 - aminophenyl) - 1,3,4-oxadiazole, and a water-soluble derivative thereof is prepared by reacting the product with rongalite. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the above compound or its derivative with rongalite, and a carrier. The compositions, which have antitubercular properties, are formulated as tablets, capsules or solutions for injection.
