A method for the preparation of leather fiber material is made of chrome-tanned leather fibers

Fibres obtained from chrome tanned leather waste, or mixture of chrome- and bark-tanned waste, are postanned with 20 - 100% (related to dry weight of fibres) of vegetable or synthetic tanning agent, such as sweetened chestnut tannin or sulphate lye concentrate respectively. Sheets are formed after addition of binder.
