[Also in Division B3] A ball-point pen tip made by forming an axial hole 2 in a bar 1 (see Division B3) has high wear resistance insert 4, e.g. nylon, injected into the hole 2 and provided with ink holes 8 and ball seat 7. The ball seat may be of greater diameter than the material 4, Fig. 1E, or of smaller diameter in which case the seat 7 is made entirely in the material 4, Fig. 2. The bar 1 is provided with a threaded portion so that the insert is securely held in the bar.
