1,145,355. Inverting. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 23 March, 1966 [24 March, 1965], No. 12788/66. Heading H2F. In an inverter circuit of the type in which a resonant circuit is maintained in oscillation by triggering a bridge of thyratrons, the disadvantages due to imprecise determination of the voltages across the thyratrons are avoided by centre tapping the capacitor, and connecting it to the centre tap of the power supply. The whole capacitance may be formed by two series connected capacitors (2, 2SP1/SP), the junction of which is connected to the junction of two power sources, Fig. 2 (not shown). Alternatively, the two series connected capacitors (2, 2SP1/SP) may be in shunt with a main capacitor (211) and the tap on the power supply may be provided by two series connected resistors (8, 8SP1/SP) across it, Fig. 3 (not shown). The inductance (4) of the resonant circuit may include a saturable choke (3) in series with it, to disconnect it when the thyratrons are charging the capacitance. Alternatively, the choke may be replaced by a further thyratron.
