[Also in Division D1] In a loose leaf binder of the kind comprising a cover 2, 3 folded at the spine to provide a pair of narrow flanges 5 between which the leaves 12 are bound by means of an elastic or extensible cord 7 threaded through perforations in the leaves and flanges by a bodkin 6, the bodkin comprises a length of wire or the like which is bent into a narrow elongated loop, and has its free ends (11a, Fig. 4) brought together and secured by a cap 11. The bodkin 6 may be made of nickel-plated wire, the cap 11 of nickelplated metal, and the cap can either be soldered or crimped over the ends (11a) of the wire: or, the bodkin and cap can be made of synthetic plastics material, and the cap can be secured by crimping, adhesive, or by heat-sealing.
