[Also in Division F3] A regulator device to facilitate the rapid unwinding by pulling of a cable &c. wound on a stationary reel 2 comprises a circular ring a coaxial with and spaced from the end of the reel in the direction of unwinding v of the cable 1, and having an outlet diameter #C less than the diameter #B of the reel, so that a convergent neck is formed with the latter. The ring a is formed on the end of a convergent passage integral with a cylindrical casing for the reel. The ratio of the outlet diameter (#C to the diameter #B of the reel is selected to permit the loop 8SP1/SP of cable in the course of unwinding to be lifted from the outer surface of the reel due to centrifugal force.
