1,259,916. Anthraquinone dyestuffs containing difluoromethylanilino groups. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AG. 16 March, 1970 [19 March, 1969], No. 12638/70. Heading C4P. The invention comprises dyestuffs of the general formula wherein one X is OH and the other is amino or nitro, and R is H or Cl. They are prepared by reacting a 4,8-dinitro-1,5-dihydroxy- and/or 4,5-dinitro-1,8-dihydroxy-anthraquinone with an optionally mono 4,5 or 6-chlorinated 3-difluoromethyl aniline at 100-220‹ C. optionally in presence of an inert diluent or in the aniline compound as reaction medium, and subsequently if desired the nitro group is reduced to amino. The dyes are used to dye polyesters, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyacrylonitrile, polyolefins and cellulose 2¢ and triacetates and also unions with cotton in admixture with reactive dyes.
