[Also in Divisions B2, C3 and D1] In the manufacture of tyres a viscose rayon cord fabric is treated with a composition prepared by mixing together an ethylene-propylene - 6 - methyl - 4,7,8,9 - tetrahydroindene terpolymer having a Mooney viscosity ML (1 + 4) at 100‹ C. of 60, distilled water, resorcinol, formalin, sodium hydroxide and a buffer solution, and assembled with a tread ribbon complete with side walls obtained by extrusion through a flat spinneret of a composition comprising a terpolymer of ethylene, 42 mol. per cent of propylene and 1 mol. per cent of 6- methyl-4,7,8,9 - tetrahydroindene, branched polyalkylbenzenes, carbon black, zinc oxide, phenylbetanaphthylamine, stearic acid, mercaptobenzothiazole, tetramethylthiouram disulphide and sulphur, and vulcanized in a mould.
