摘要
The slip-resistance of ceramic, vitrified ceramic or concrete surfaces, when wet, is increased by washing the surface to remove oily films, if present, applying to the surface for from three seconds to 120 minutes an aqueous solution of a surface active agent and an "acid fluoride", the fluoride being present in a concentration between 0.1 and 200 parts by weight per 1000 parts by weight of the solution, and removing the fluoride from the surface. The "acid fluorides" specified are hydrofluoric acid, fluoboric acid and alkali bifluorides e.g. sodium, potassium, lithium and ammonium bifluorides, also sodium fluoride and potassium fluoride alone or in admixture with acids e.g. hydrochloric, sulphuric, phosphoric or acetic acids. The fluoride may be removed by washing the surface with water, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium hydroxide or ammonia. The surface active agent may be present in an amount between 1 and 50 parts by weight per 1000 parts by weight of acid fluoride solution and may be an alkyl aryloxy polyoxyalkanol e.g. butyl-, octyl-, nonyl-, decyl-, or dodecyl-, phenoxy polyethoxyethanol. The acid fluoride solution may also contain a water soluble xanthene dye in sufficient quantity to impart a stable colour to the treated surface. Dyes specified are the water-soluble reaction product of phthalic acid and an alkylamine or an arylamine, and the water soluble reaction product of a dialkylamine and hydroxy tri-mellitic acid. Examples of suitable dyes are those of the group consisting of Rhodamine, Violamine and Chromoxane dyes.
