A flexible sealing strip for an expansion joint is in two parts, one of which has longitudinally extending passage, the top of which corresponds to a concave depression in the top of the sealing strip. The two parts comprise an H section with outward securing flanges at the feet of the verticals and a dovetail cross section, and a T-section having a longitudinal passage in the corresponding dovetail section vertical portion and three depressions in the upper surface of the horizontal portion. The sides of the sections are arcuate to promote vertical downward deflection under compression. The sealing strip may be inserted in recesses in the concrete surfaces or bolted thereto by metal clamp members.
