Adjacent wall units 1-3 of a cabinet are formed as independent units which are substantially rigid and are provided therein with heat insulating material 12, each unit 1-3 being formed with a peripheral rebate to accommodate a sealing strip 10 whereby two adjacent walls may be assembled edge to edge with their respective strips 10 in sealing engagement. The walls 1-3 are secured together by means of bolts 13 engaged in corner brackets 4. Certain bolts 13 may also engage a base 5. Each wall unit comprises an insulating plate 12 engaged between an outer plate 6 and an internal frame 8 having a Z-sectional periphery. As shown, an interned flange 7 on the outer plate may be welded to the inner frame 8. Alternatively, the outer plate 6 may be bent around the outer flange 9 of the inner frame. Adjacent cabinets may be secured together by connecting members 21 or 30 (Figs. 2, 4) having flanges which engage the sealing strips. The cabinet may form a part of an air conditioning plant in which adjacent cabinets are formed with a through passage.
