The sealing arrangement of the valve enables replacement of valve components such as spindle seal and actuating elements to be carried out without interruption of operation. The sealing ring is between the closure unit and the seat in the housing. The force for returning the closure unit into the normal operating position is produced by static pressure in the valve. The valve has a seat and type closure element closed at the lower end and which travels against the force of the spring against the seat. The sealing ring which acts as flow restrictor is made from permeable foam plastics. The static pressure in the valve will push the hollow closure element against this sealing ring and valve actuating element can be replaced under this condition.
