The powder is contained in a hopper which discharges onto a distributor profiled in the form of steps and whence it is removed by a vibrator located to one side of it. An air stream is directed from a channel onto the discharge side of the distributor and a high tension electro-static field is set up which all combine to project the powder onto the work object.
