Purificn of spent cutting fluids - effluent purification

Solid mixtures are used as separating agents for water soluble cooling-, lubricating- and cutting agents to prevent toxicity of effluents by ensuring that the solution or emulsion splits up in an aqueous phase free from mineral oils at the top and a heavier phase at the bottom which contains the Al-Mg-silicates of the Montmorillonite group, together with mineral oil and emulsifier precipitations. Specifically, the heavier phase contains the Al-Mg-silicates non-soluble in water and a water soluble part, consisting of the acid salts of the alkali and/or earth alkali metals of phosphorus- and/or sulphuric acid and/or boric acid.
