The component is used in association with an organoaluminium compound in the polymerisation of α-olefines. The organoaluminium compound used in the reduction and as the second catalyst component may be of the formula AIR n X 3-n in which R is a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 14 carbon atoms, X is a halogen atom (or an alkoxy group in the case of the second component), and n is an integer of 1 to 3 or 1.5. Many suitable titanium, vanadium and aluminium compounds and solvents for the preparation of the cocrystallised component are specified.
