Producing chipboards of higher rates by insuring higher drying where large quantities of steam may be used during pressing stages G2B. Is effected by removing the superfluous moisture released by the compressed chipboards during the pressing cycle when the press is closed through opening provided in one or both of the press platens. - Rapid drying times permits high production rates of plates having a greater thickness.
