Polymer (a) comprises reacting (1) 0-99 mole % (meth)acrylic esters (alcohol 1-18 C atoms) (meth) acrylonitrile vinyl chloride or vinyl fluoride, (2) 1-100 mole % of 1 or more hydroxyethyl- or hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylates and (3) 0-10 mole % (meth)acrylic acid, with (b) a (cyclo)aliphatic polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst and an organic liquid. The catalyst may be a tertiary amine or a phenylmercuric propionate or oleate. The polymer (a), contains a fourth component, a dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate of formula /where R and R1 = alkyl of 1-4C atom and R2 = H or Me/ Coating films produced from these polymers do not yellow with age and are extremely durable.
