In the moulding of an article having a solid core, the core 9, Fig. 1, is wrapped in a layer of glass fibre 8 and is located in the bottom half 1 of a two-piece mould already containing the liquid resin and the top half 2 of the mould is then located over the core and is pushed downwardly into closed position to depress the core and so displace the resin to impregnate the wrapping, the resin then being allowed to set. The core may be provided with spacers 11, Fig. 4, before location in the mould cavity.
