In an apparatus for applying a rib-like barrier across the trough of a contoured roofing tile, of the type described in parent Specification 1,174,992, the rib is shaped in cavity 21 of a mould member 20 which is reciprocable from a position beneath an outlet 18 of the hopper 14 for charging by a plunger 15 to a position beneath a plunger 16 for discharging the moulded rib from the cavity 21 on to an extruded contoured roofing tile. The hopper contains an agitator 24 driven by a chain and sprocket.
