Improvements to Mixer Control Desks, More Particularly for Radio Broadcasting Studios.

A mixer control desk plug-in assemby, for broadcasting studios comprises a support structure 27 (Figs. 2 and 6) with flanged guide rails 29 which engage within a flanged bottom of carrier sockets 5. Each carrier socket detachably carries component units 1-4 and contains cable looms 54 interconnecting terminal pins in connector 14 with plug-in contact socket strip 31b, 51b, 52b, 53b (detailed in Fig. 9, not shown), which strips engage contact units within the components 1-4. The combination of each carrier socket and set of component units 1-4 is plugged into a respective socket unit (at connector 14) on a transverse detachable connecting insert 15 through which runs a cable loom 13 connected to the various sockets thereon and interconnecting the various sets of component units, and also connected via plug-in contact strips 30 to external equipment (not shown). Guides 28 are provided to align the transverse connecting units 15 with respect to the support 27 when assembling. The units 1-4 may comprise a mike amplifier 1, separating amplifier 2, stereo control 3, equalizer 4. Fig. 1 (not shown), represents in circuit form the interconnections between the components units 1-4, carrier socket 5 and transverse connector insert 15. Fig. 6 shows a partly assembled mixer control desk. The transverse connector insert is detailed in Figs. 3, 4 (not shown).
