A system for heating or cooling a part of the human body comprises a receptacle 12 for heat transfer fluid, a pump 11 for circalating the fluid from the receptacle, a thermostatically-controlled heat-exchanger 10 and a spray device 1-3 shaped to the body part being heated or cooled and located within the receptacle above the fluid therein.
