A tubular synthetic plastics covering 8 for an aerial has a number of annular ribs W to prevent the build-up of rhythmic wind induced oscillations, the spacing of the ribs being less than the diameter of the structure, the axial width b of each rib being at least one twentyfifth of the diameter and the height d of the ribs being at least one fiftieth thereof. Randomly spaced and sized knobs may be provided to assist the prevention of oscillations. The ribs may be of triangular or trapezoidal section.
