摘要
1,198,796. Method of defence against human attack. H. C. PALMER. 19 Aug., 1966, No. 37392/66. Heading F3A. In a method of dealing with a human attacker, a chemical irritating substance such as methyl salicylate, acetic acid, hypertonic salt solution, or vinegar, is injected sub-cutaneously into the body of the attacker. This causes sufficient temporary pain to cause the attacker to break off the attack, without causing him permanent ill effects. The injection is administered by a needle projectile fired from a gun and containing the irritating substance. The projectile disclosed in U.S. Specification 2,923,243 may be used and may be modified by closing the front of the hollow needle member and providing it with a number of laterally disposed openings so that the irritating substance is injected sub-cutaneously.
