The invention comprises mixtures of metallized azo dyes of formulµ in a weight ratio of 4: 1 to 1: 4, wherein A and B each represent a 1,2-naphthylene radical, D 1 and D 2 each represent a phenyl or an α- or #- naphthyl radical, X 1 represents hydrogen, nitro, halogen, or, if X 2 represents hydrogen, X 1 represents -SO 3 -MSP+/SP, X 2 represents -SO 3 SP-/SPM SP+/SP, or, if X 1 represents -SO 3 SP-/SPMSP+/SP, X 2 represents hydrogen, X 3 represents hydrogen, nitro, halogen or -SO 3 SP-/SPMSP+/SP, X 4 and W each represent hydrogen or -SO 3 SP-/SPMSP+/SP with the proviso that two of X 3 , X 4 and W must represent -SO 3 -MSP+/SP, W being linked to any of the naphthalene radicals or to D 2 , Y 1 and Y 2 each represent hydrogen or they each represent C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy or #-hydroxyethoxy linked in 4-position, with the proviso that, when Y 1 and/or Y 2 represent hydrogen, D 1 -N=N- and/or D 2 -N=N- are linked in 4-position to the benzene nucleus G 1 or G 2 , and when Y 1 and/or Y 2 represent C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy or #-hydroxyethoxy linked in 4- position, D 1 -N=N- and/or D 2 -N=N- are linked in 5-position to the benzene nucleus G 1 or G 2 , respectively, MSP+/SP represents one equivalent of a non-colour-imparting cation, and any substituent of the radicals D 1 and D 2 , in the case of the latter apart from any group W present therein, is selected from halogen, cyano, nitro, C 1-4 alkyl, trifluoromethyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, C 1-4 alkylthio, phenyloxy, phenylthio, C 1-5 alkanoyl, C 1-4 alkyl-sulphonyl, phenyl sulphonyl, or a sulphamoyl group the nitrogen atom of which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two substituents selected from aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, mononuclear carbocyclic-aromatic or araliphatic radicals. The dye mixtures may be prepared by reacting a 1: 1-chromium complex of an appropriate monoazo dye with a mixture of appropriate metallized disazo dyes. The dye mixtures may be used to colour natural and synthetic polyamide materials, particularly wool, and leather in black shades.
