SONAR PULSE EMITTING SUBMARINE CABLE FOR GUIDANCE OF SURFACE AND SUBMARINE VESSELS, AND THEIR DETECTION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO AN INVESTIGATION OF THE LOCH NESS MONSTER
1,206,580. Buoyant cables. A. P. PEDRICK. 11 Dec., 1969, No. 60414/69. Heading H1A. [Also in Division H4] A cable for use under water has a regular arrangement of sonar pulse transducers spaced along its length and includes within its structure flexible inflatable members which when filled by compressed air cause the cable to become buoyant so that it may be inspected or repaired. The cable may be used, in association with receiver 5 on a ship to guide the ship along a given course, or into and out of harbours, and may also be used for submarine detection. The transducers may be emitters or receivers or both.
