1,206,669. Halosalicylaldehyde Schiff's bases. PECHINEY PROGIL SOC. POUR LE DEVELOPPEMENT ET LA VENT DE SPECIALITES CHIMIQUES. 22 May, 1968 [26 May, 1967], No. 24342/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises compounds of the Formula I wherein X is halogen, and R is a cyoloaliphatic or tetrahydronaphthyl radical, which may be substituted by one or more of the radicals OH, halogen, alkyl or halogenated alkyl, and their salts and divalent metal chelates, and the organic salts of their esters. They are prepared by condensing a primary amine RNH 2 with a dihalogenated salicylic aldehyde. The organic salts of the esters are produced by reacting the Schiff's base with the anhydride of the organic acid. The compounds of Formula I have fungicidal activity.
