1349200 Fixing devices A BONNET 19 April 1971 [9 Feb 1970] 21410/71 Heading F2H A hollow cylindrical plug 1 with a base 5, a cover 5SP1/SP with a flange 6, and walls 7 which may have ridges or ribs, is moulded from plastics material and has a support plate 8 forcibly inserted and held against its inner walls. The plug is secured by an adhesive in a panel 2 having for example a core of expanded polyurethane between outer layers of polyester. An element 10 and the panel 2 are fixed together by a bolt 9 received in a threaded bore of the plate 8 which may be disposed at either end of the plug so that the bolt may project through and secure the element 10 to either end of the plug. The plug may be formed in two halves adhesively secured together, Fig. 3 (not shown). An additional flanged member may project through the panel from the opposite side receiving the plug so as to embrace the latter within the panel, Fig. 4 (not shown).
