The SSB AM HF receiver, with or without carrier suppression has a first receive path consisting of a pre-selection filter, mixer with tunable oscillator, selective IF amplifier and multiplicative demodulator; and a second path consisting of a pre-selection filter, mixer and selective IF amplifier. The same oscillator frequency is used for both mixers. The input for the second path is obtained from a frequency divided local oscillator and the input for the first path from the antenna circuitry. The second path's output is used to control the multiplicative demodulator in the first path. The demodulator output is low pass filtered to obtain the LF signal.
