The dilatator is for precordial mitral and tricuspidal commissurotomy. It has a working head with two ring-shaped jaws protected by strut-like elements. Each jaw has a shears-like lever drive coupled o a manual-operating device by means of a pliable guide tube housing a pliable tension wire. - The levers with the slidable linkage are arranged on both sides of the lever with the non-slidable linkages. The inner surfaces of the side walls of the jaws (4) serve as guides for these double levers (9). The protective elements (23) are sprung and pliable and are fixed to the pliable guide tube (2).
