The coating has the property of reducing carbonaceous residue accumulation resulting from cooking grease splashes. It is produced by enamelling with a glass frit slip pref. of alkaline-borosilicate or -alumino phosphate, contg. is approx. 1/2-25% of halides pref. fluoride and is approx. 2-75% per 100 pts. solids of powders of Al, Mg or their alloys which on heating interact to form a porous structure and on cooling undergo coalescence.
