The centralised clock pulse supply in telephone exchanges uses auxiliary storage cells for the clock pulses supplied in the respective clock cycle. All auxiliary storage cells cyclically interrogated. The duration of this interrogation cycle not exceeding the time period of a single clock pulse. Each clock pulse signal is, during the interrogation, fed into a testing device with is supplied with clock pulses from the generator in different sequences over several lines, allocated to the individual clock pulse sequences. The testing device checks the clock pulse signal from the cells against the clock pulse sequences and releases the same on coincidence.
