Along the column is a smelting electrode of the material to be smelted, an ingot mould, an auxiliary electrode heating the metal to be smelted or the copper floor panel on which the steel billet is smelted. Each is adjustably fixed to a carriage. The column is horizontally adjustable. Spec., it is suspended from a movable crane bridge.
