Mono-and di-ammonium phosphate prodn inimproved yield

Process for making mono or di-ammonium phosphate according to the parent patent gives better yields when an ammonium salt is added to the mixture of solvent and crude phosphoric acid solution at the extraction stage. In an example various amounts of crude phosphoric acid were partitioned between water and isobutanol, in the presence or absence of 15% NH4NO3, and the partition coefficients calculated. In all cases more P2O5 went into the solvent when NH4NO3 was present.
