[Also in Divisions H2 and H3-H5] An electric fan heater for use with a normal supply and an off-peak supply has two electric heating circuits each with its own set of terminals, and switching means to prevent simultaneous energization of the two heating circuits. The heating resistance is in three sections 20, 21, 22 in the fan outlet 18, each section comprising a helically coiled conductor which extends in horizontal runs transverse to the air flow and is supported at spaced points by the edges of plate insulators extending in the flow direction. Air inlets are provided in the sides and end wall of the heater and the switching means is mounted in the top right hand quarter of the heater housing. The fan speed is automatically controlled to suit the power dissipation. The heater is controlled by a room thermostat which may be included in the secondary circuit of a step-down transformer. The fan may be energized alone at any time.
