In a nuclear power plant, superheated steam generated from the reactor heavy water steam coolant is in part passed through a heat exchanger and in part passed through a L÷ffler boiler to generate the coolant steam. Superheated heavy water steam from reactor 1 passes to the heat exchanger 4 where superheated steam is generated for the plant 13, 14. The condensate from 4 flows to L÷ffler boiler 7 where it is evaporated by superheated steam from 1, fed by blower 10.
