STATOR WINDINGS FOR THREE-PHASE TWO-SPEED INDUCTION MOTORS

The stator winding of a three-phase twospeed, induction motor is divided into nine sections and for one speed (Fig. 1) they are connected to form a delta which has three seriesconnected winding sections in each limb, whilst for the other speed (Fig. 2) they are connected to form a delta which has three parallel-connected winding sections in each limb. The winding layout for a stator having 72 slots and either 28 (Fig. 3, not shown) or 6 (Fig. 4, not shown) poles is described.
