A frame 17 mounted on the platform 5 on hinge pins 16 can be tilted slightly upwardly or downwardly out of the horizontal by levers 18 and has a roller conveyer 21, 22. A manoevring roller 24 set at right angles to the rollers 21, 22 can be raised and lowered in relation thereto. A telescopic roller conveyer bridge 27, 28 connects the platform 5 to a cargo shed 4. A tilting platform 55 is arranged between the platform 5 and the bridge section 27 to hinge about the axis of the pins 16 and has a roller conveyer 57 which can thus selectively form a continuation either of the platform conveyer 21, 22 or the bridge conveyer 46, 47. The end of the bridge section 28 at the shed 4 is carried in a gantry 31 and may be aligned with roller conveyer 40 or 41 and has a tilting platform 56 similar to the one 55. The gantry 31 is mounted for displacement along the shed 4 on rails 30, 33. At least some of the rollers of the roller conveyers are driven and, in addition, the rollers of the bridge 27, 28 have at least some devices for braking. The adjustment of the equipment is remote controlled from a control desk 60. The height of the platform 5 and the tilt of the frame 17 is controlled automatically with respect to the aircraft fuselage 61 by optical reflex switches or inductive proximity switches (not shown). Adjustment of the tilting platforms 55, 56 to positions permitting a container 63 to travel smoothly between the conveyers is effected automatically by limit switches and inductive proximity switches (64), Fig. 6 (not shown).
