THIAZOLO-PHOSPHORIC,-THIONO-PHOSPHORIC,-PHOSPHONIC AND -THIONOPHOSPHONIC ACID ESTERS,THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR USE AS INSECTICIDES AND ACARICIDES

1322860 Phosphorus-containing thiazole derivatives BAYER AG 29 Dec 1971 [29 Dec 1970] 60321/71 Headings C2C and C2P Novel phosphorus-containing thiazole derivatives of the formula wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 (which may be the same or different) are C 1 -C 6 alkyl radicals, R 1 is C 1 -C 6 alkyl or C 1 -C 6 alkoxy and X is O or S are obtained by reacting (RO)(R 1 )P(X)Hal, where Hal is halogen with a compound of the formula in the form of its alkali metal-, alkaline earth metal- or ammonium salt, or in the presence of an acid binding agent. The reaction is preferably effected in an inert solvent and preferably at 20‹ to 50‹ C. The products have acaricidal and insecticidal properties and may be used as active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions. They are also effective against animal parasites and for this purpose may be applied orally in the form of tablets, capsules, draughts or granulates, as dips or sprays, by pouring on and dusting over, or by parenteral injection. The thiazole derivatives of Formula II are obtained by cyclization of a corresponding compound of the formula Alkyl O.C(O)N=C(O Alkyl)(SCH 2 COO Alkyl) using an alkali metal alcoholate in an organic solvent, e.g. an alcohol. A detailed example is given for the production of 2-methoxy-4- hydroxy-5-carbisopropoxythiazole.
