The pressure plate is heated to 40-70 degrees C, and then sprayed with polyurethane before the pressure is applied to the absorbent material and its impregnating fluid to the carrier material to be bonded by high frequency beams into a leather-type material. The pre-coating gives a polyurethane cladding to the material which gives the look of leather and its feel to the end prod.
