Thermostable ethylenic polymers contng. substd. phosphites and phenols. Olefinic polymer cpds. contain a major proportion of an ethylenic polymer chosen from low density polyethylene, copolymers of ethylene with 2-25% of (meth)acrylic acid or their alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salts, or copolymers of ethylene and acrylates of alkyls with 1-18C, and a proportion of 0.005 to 5% of a mixture of 1.5-9 pts. of 2,6-bis(2'-hydroxy-3'-t-butyl-5'-methylbenzyl)-4-methyl-phenol and of 1 pt. of an alkyl substd. phenyl phosphite chosen from monophosphites of formula: in which n is 1, 2 or 3; R is an alkyl radical of 9-12C atoms, and diphosphates of formula: in which (A) is a bivalent radical from -O(CH2.CH2.O)y -O(CH2CHO)y, -O(CH2)xO-, -OCH2.CHO- or -O(CH2)zS(CH2)zO-, in which x is 2-10, y is 2-6 and z is 2-5.
