1,267,393. Hard agglomerated bodies. ELEKTRODIUS A.B. 3 April, 1969 [ April, 1968], No. 17654/69. Heading C1A. Hard bodies from an ore concentrate are manufactured by a process comprising the steps of mixing the ore concentrate with a humidifying agent, a slag former on a bonding agent, forming agglomerated bodies from the resulting mass and exposing said bodies to a highfrequency alternating magnetic field. The exposure should be of such a time that the temperature of the bodies rises to below 100‹ C. Additional hardening may be achieved by a subsequent hydrothermal treatment at 190‹ C. and at 12-13 atmospheres gauge. The concentrate is preferably of iron ore. The bonding agent is preferably granulated finely ground slag derived from a metallurgic melting process, preferably a blast furnace slag, which also functions as the slag former although limestone, dolomite or magnesite together with magnesium carbonate, may also be present. In an example an induction coil is fed with a power of 4-6 kw. at a frequency of 1 MHz.
