Electrodes with Ti skeleton have surface coating of W bronze or cpds. of the same type. These cpds. adhere strongly to the Ti surface, forming a permanent, acid-proof coating, which is attacked by neither H2 nor O2. These electrodes can also be coated with Zn or Pb and opt. PbO2 and used as anodes for sec. batteries; or coated with electrically conductive active C, bound to the skeleton with an organic binder, and provided with a catalyst (pref. W or Co carbides and pore former) and water-proofing agent.
