The transportable machine for shearing metal sections, has a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder (1) which actuates a sliding blade (13). The blade slides between two parallel fixed blades (16). These fixed blades act as guides and obviate the need for any additional guiding device resulting in a simpler and lighter machine. - The moving blade has a V shaped cutting edge (14) which automatically centres the metal section and exerts a pressure over the whole of the cross-section of the bar during the shearing stroke. The machine is thus suitable for any type of cross-section.
