VHF filter construction with coupled resonators - has input and output conductors and resonator dimensions producing wave pattern of tenth harmonic of dominant mode
A filter is used for very short electromagnetic waves, it has several coupled resonators with terminal conductors to the first and last resonator for input and output respectively. There are additional couplings between resonators not following each other and the resonators are also connected to form rows. The energy supplied to the filter passes sequentially through resonators of the same row. - The dimensions of the resonators (1-8) are such that the type of wave used for the effective resonance wave type will be one producing an electromagnetic field pattern equivalent to that of the tenth harmonic of the dominant mode for transverse electric resonance. The resonance frequency of the resonators can be tuned by a pin (10) made from a dielectric material.
