Escaping steam containment system - for bursts in primary coolant circuit or pressure vessel of nuclear reactors

When a burst is detected, automatic valves close the normal vents/chimneys and open in an emergency connection line from the plant room to the main turbine condenser used in the primary coolant circuit whilst at the same time extractor fan(s) is/are switched on. Reduced cost of emergency condensation plant by using major item of existing plant.
