Continuous cast wide strip - formed from slotted spread out cast tube

In producing non-ferrous metal strips of great width and length, a slotted tube is cast and after passage through the pulling off device is fed through a widening out, spreading out and flattening device. The device for transforming the slotted tube into strip is wedge shaped having a geometry which continuously and gradually changes the shape of the tube material into strip. The method permits prodn. of strip of far greater width than would otherwise be possible.
