A thermal neutron guide consists of outer carrier channel elements which rest on supports and are sealed airtight against each other by bellows. The evacuated carrier channel houses a number of guide channel elements which are adjustably supported inside the carrier channel; each element is located at one end, with a freedom to expand at the other end.
