A mould tool split in half is used, each half having the top/bottom half of a toroidal chamber cut in it. Within this chamber a toroidal core with four equispaced flanges and an inward radial rib is placed. The mould is filled with foaming plastic e.g. polyurethane resin which is foamed and polymerised in the mould to form four shells, with splits allowing fitting to the pipes, to be made simultaneously.
