The lower thread bobbin is positioned in a capsule, which is surrounded for 180 degrees by a curved path for a bendable needle, in the bobbin plane, which is vertical under a bobbin edge, expanding the needle thread loop. The bobbin edge consists of a smooth or chain toothed wheel edge, of a truncated cone or cap shaped bobbin, having a needle stitch axis in tangential direction, of a tangentially guided needle. The needle has a head which is axially profiled according to the bobbin edge. The unit has no transmissions on or inside the sewing machine using only an oscillating drive for the needle and the top thread tension unit.
